March seems to have come out of nowhere this year, and I’m sort of sad the year is going so quickly while also enjoying every moment. March usually means the promise of lighter evenings and fewer layers, and rosé season is now in sight; however, being the other side of the world means it’s always rosé season, but I’m going to need to start adding layers, not taking them away, I might even jump on the Salomon Running Vest hype just for a little extra something. I know so many of you have started your marathon journeys. For people doing Paris and London, the longest runs of your plan are coming up (or you’re about to taper); for me, marathon training is just getting started as I start my journey to Gold Coast. I’m incredibly excited and anxious following last year’s injury. I have loved trying new yoga and pilates classes here in Melbourne and am still blown away by how accessible these classes are compared to the UK; I’m hopeful that the training plan I’ve chosen mixed with yoga and pilates will be the right balance for me. Like most people, I’ll be working full time while balancing the increasing mileage and recovery needs over the next 18 weeks while praying that my trainers and I make it to Gold Coast in one piece.

Outside of running, I have continued focusing on cultivating self-love and have spent the first hour of my day 3-4 times a week working through To Be Magnetic. I feel like I’ve made some real shifts. We’ve also loved going out and exploring Melbourne more; evening walks along the beach are a current favourite, and I don’t think they’ll ever get old.

March mood board

Throughout March, I’ll be sharing more of these practices with you on a weekly basis to help you find micro habits that help you grow and be the person you want to be. From breaking down the basics of skincare so you can be as minimal or maximal as you want to be to launching my YouTube channel, which will mainly be dedicated to running, I am definitely leaning into my running and self-care era this year as we have officially booked 4 races, so stay tuned to see how I get on.

Elsewhere, I’ll explore more of Melbourne’s bakeries and wellness offerings now that we are finally settled in a home and back to working full-time. I can’t wait to spend an hour unplugged in a foot spa or go to the Monopoly Cafe. And finally, it’s going to take a lot of self-control not to eat every hot cross bun in the city. I love hot cross buns, and I’ve seen them around a lot since I landed but refused to eat them so early in the year, but March means Easter, and I will spend the WHOLE MONTH eating every flavour Melbourne has to offer and trust me… there’s a lot.
Have a fabulous month,
